Talking about video games in teaching languages, I think they are kind of motivational materials which could positively accelerate learning. Influent is a learning game with 3D-experience to help language learners acquire vocabulary and pronunciation. In the latest version, it supports 17 languages and costs 10 dollars. I think one of the advantages is the well-designed graphics and UI. Everybody would like to have a fun and meaningful way to learn vocabulary, that's the reason why Influent is powerful and popular. Unlike AR tools (ex. AIPOLY), Influent creates a brand new way to acquire lexicon knowledge. Can't imagine that learning new words could be done by shooting and collecting objects on a mini plane. The cons are obvious too, I believe more grammatical knowledge and vocabulary recycle practice could be added on because lexicon learning is a long-term process. Systematical practice and vocabulary refreshing could help learners reinforce their gains throughout the game.
